There are over 16 million people providing unpaid care for people with dementia in a home setting. If you're one of these caregivers, you already know how challenging - mentally, physically, financially, emotionally - the role of a caregiver can be. My passion is helping families/caregivers and their loved ones to live their BEST LIFE WITH DEMENTIA. Education and knowledge give caregivers the understanding and power to make informed decisions for their loved one and their families. Knowledge is power!
My comprehensive coaching program will provide education, answer questions, and guide the caregiver through the challenges of diagnosis, behavioral issues, activities of daily living, through end of life care.
My coaching program was designed to join the caregiver at any stage to meet immediate needs and then provide overall education and guidance specific to their loved one. Additional family members are welcome to attend the 1:1 sessions as needed.

The most important of the many benefits of dementia coaching is education. Did you know that over 80% of caregivers have little or no education in the event of:
- increased memory problems
- difficulty with eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulating and hygiene
- elopement and wandering
- hallucinations and delusions
- medication side effects
- combative behavior
- accusations and paranoia
- sickness, infections, and surgery and their effects on dementia
- what to tell your doctor or other healthcare professional
Additional examples of what we will cover:
• Initial diagnosis, testing and dealing with any current behavioral issues
• Getting important personal, medical, legal, financial and insurance paperwork and information together
• Planning for the future – dementia proofing your home, planning home or facility care
• Dealing with daily care and routines, behaviors can be improved through keeping a routine
Education will be personal and situation specific to your needs.
A daughter came to me after two years of caring for her mom with late-stage Alzheimer's. She had quit her job, lost most of her social life, and was running on resentment and love. Through our coaching, she learned to set boundaries, delegate care tasks, and find moments of joy again. She said it felt like she got her life back and she is still caring for her mother - just not at the cost of herself.
A husband had been caring for his wife for over five years. He told me that everyone asks how she's doing but no one asked about him. Through coaching, I was able to teach him how to process anticipatory grief, advocate for himself with family, and create routines that gave him breaks. He now runs a weekly poker night again — something he gave up years ago!
A daughter who's father was recently diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia came to me. She didn’t know what to expect — just that her sweet dad was now agitated, paranoid, and losing himself. I was able to give her clarity on how the disease progresses, how to communicate with empathy, and how to emotionally prepare for what’s next. She said that I helped her to stop panicking and start planning. Another good example where knowledge is power!
